Claro Walnut with Bubinga Stripes

Our client wanted a sensitive drum for brushwork and acoustic jazz, but with the capacity to sound great for pop rock and funk as well. Together, we designed this Claro Walnut and African Bubinga instrument to meet those needs. The dimensions are 14" by 6.5" by 5/16ths of an inch, and the drum features Bubinga hoops with a thin Claro stripe to mirror the shell. The high gloss finish is achieved with 25 coats of lacquer, and a slightly pebbled interior lacquer finish serves to warm up the tone of the drum a bit. Chrome tube lugs, Nickel Drumworks throwoff and 42 strand snare wires complete this versatile and rich sounding instrument.
