Late last year, Stanbridge Drum Company was asked
to partner with the world's finest drumstick maker, Pro-Mark, to
develop "the world's finest drum" in anticipation of their
company's 50th anniversary. This year marks not only the 50th year
Pro-Mark has been supplying the world with drumsticks, but the first
time it has ventured into creating something on which to strike
them.
This Pro-Mark 50th Anniversary Commemorative Drum
represents the culmination of well over a year of collaborative
design effort and lone craftsmanship.
Features and benefits
- Available in 5.5"
X 14" and 6.5" X 14". Limited production…only
50 of EACH size will be available
- Each drum is beautifully handcrafted by Master
craftsman Pete Stanbridge in Newfoundland, Canada, utilizing Japanese
White Oak, American Hickory, and American Maple…the three
types of woods used in the making of Pro-Mark drumsticks
- The main shell is made from Japanese White
Oak… the wood that put Pro-Mark in business 50 years ago!
- Each instrument is constructed using 90 blocks
of wood, formed using a segment shell construction process and
lathe turned for incredible strength and amazing tone!
- Using the same segment shell construction process,
the famous Pro-Mark stripes are crafted using Walnut with an Oak
inlay
- Precision-cut bearing edges seat and align
the head for a perfect union of sound
- Rock Maple and Pau Ferro finger-jointed hardwood
hoops complete the look and sound of the drum. The extra durable
hoops provide unique warmth coupled with a definitive rimshot
“crack”. This drum responds at all levels of play!
Each drum has a “High Gloss” instrument lacquer exterior
finish for a superior hi-end look
- Each drum comes equipped with 8 machined, custom-designed
Stanbridge Drum Co. tube lugs, finished in high quality 24K gold
plate. Because of the rigidity of the hardwood hoops, 8 lugs were
chosen instead of 10 for tuning ease. The 8-lug design also allows
for the beauty of the drum shell to shine through!
- A gold-plated Pro-Mark 50th Anniversary cast
badge is inset into a Hickory frame
- The drums are fitted with a custom printed Pro-Mark
50th Anniversary Remo Renaissance batter head and a custom printed
Hazy Ambassador snare side head
- Puresound 16-strand custom copper snare wires
round out the drums’ sound and responsiveness!
- A Dunnett R2 Quick Release throw-off and butt
piece featuring a custom Pro-Mark etched handle in 24K gold plated
finish is the perfect compliment to this classic piece of workmanship.
This feature allows you to quickly remove the snare wires for
snare side head changes!
- The classic retro interior
paper tag is individually numbered and hand signed by Pro-Mark
founder Herb Brochstein, Pro-Mark President Maury Brochstein and
Drumsmith Pete Stanbridge
Each drum will also be accompanied with the following
Pro-Mark 50th Anniversary items:

interior
